The 1st Regular Meeting of the Carfax Lodge was held at the Masonic Temple, Brighton on 23rd May 1962.
W Bro Gordon Harry Clayton PPrAGDC was presented as Master Designate of the Lodge to the Deputy Provincial Grand Master the VW Bro The Rev. C H Mosse PGCh. by the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies.
Having given his assent to the Ancient Charges the worshipful Master Designate took the Obligation as such. A Board of installed Masters was formed. The WM Designate was then installed as Master of the Lodge in due form by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master. W Bro Jack H Seaman PPrADC (Surrey) was invested as Immediate Past Master.
All Founder Members of the Lodge were admitted and saluted the WM as Master Masons. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master delivered into the hands of the WM the Warrant of the Lodge and the WM declared that W Bro W H Saunders was duly elected Treasurer of the Lodge and Bro S C S Worsley as Tyler.
The Deputy Provincial Grand Master then addressed the Worshipful Master. W Bro A H Edwards PGD, Asst. PGM, delivered the address to the Wardens. W Bro H Middleburgh, PGD, Asst. PGM, delivered the address to the Brethren of the Lodge.
The Secretary gave Notice of Proposition that certain Consecrating Officers should be made Honorary Members of Carfax Lodge No 7819. A telegram of good wishes was received from the King Arthur Lodge, Bournemouth.
The Lodge was closed in due form
